With a practical colour planning and colour mixing exercise, this workshop will help you:
a. Appreciate how designers use colour with intention
b. Mix colours easily and accurately and
c. Plan the use of colour in your own artwork.

These concepts can be applied to designers of all fields – interiors, fashion, web/UX UI design and more. This workshop is highly recommended to both beginners and intermediate artists who want to be more mindful in using colour with intention in their artwork.

2. Colour Blending Canvas Painting Workshop

This lively workshop is about practical colour mixing for artists and designers. The aim of the course is to develop comprehensive and practical ways of linking visualising colour and applying colour-mixing. Some standard assumptions and approaches will be questioned, and rational working methods will be developed. You shall then be able to take away these experiences and apply them freely and with confidence in your own work.
By doing a painting on canvas, the beginning practical work will lead to introductory discussions about some basic principles of colour and colour-mixing. The course will also examine the best approach to mixing and matching colour in paint from a limited range of starting pigments.
This course could be of use to both beginners and those who are more experienced. Students looking at getting into a design course will benefit from this workshop. To make the most of this workshop, we highly recommend you attending our Colour Theory Workshop prior, however a re-cap shall be provided.

When: Sunday 17 November, 2-5 PM
Where: The Art Academy
Who: Adults & Ages 12 up
Duration: 3 Hours
Fees: 600 – all material provided.

3. Clay Modelling Workshop

Sculpting and modelling with clay is a creative activity suitable for people of all ages. The workshop is designed for various degrees of difficulty. With a designated trainer for adults and children, it is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy.
For those of you who don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you will learn hand moulding techniques to make mini- 3D forms out of basic shapes to create art from natural modelling clay. You will be taught techniques to get either a textured or smooth finish from tools lying around the house.
This is a two-day workshop that requires drying time with our non-firing clay. Once dry, you can paint the sculpture or decorate with embellishments. These skills can be transferred over for aspiring cake decorators, sculptors and 3D designers.
